A portable art kit is a fabulous way to support creative practice and creative self-care wherever you are. I love the big art I can make in my home studio, but honestly most of my art making happens on the go with the help of a journal and portable art kit.
While you can pack as much as you'd like into a portable art kit, I personally find that I use it more when there are only a few essentials.
MY PORTABLE ART KIT FAVORITES:
This one prompts "oos" and "ahs" when I'm creating on the go. It is the perfect solution for painting without a container for brush water.
Micron pens in a several sizes are my favorite, but any pen will do!
Small Watercolor Set
There are lots of options out there, but I really enjoy the Jane Davenport Petite Palette Brights and the Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box (comes with an aqua brush!)
This is one of my favorite journals in terms of size and paper quality. I'm also fond of using planners for my daily, on-the-go journaling.
This particular white pen is one of the best I've tried. A white Sakura Gelly Roll is another option. I like using white pens for accents, especially over darker paper or painted areas.
Washi Tape For added pops of color and pattern, washi tape is a fun addition to a portable art kit. I use it to attach added paper to the edges of my journal pages. There are many options for washiest tape, but the Japanese MT brand is the best I've found so far in terms of quality adhesion and ability to be repositioned on paper without tiring out.
Do you have a portable art kit?
I'd love to hear what you've included!
